Salt halotherapy can be used to treat the following:

Halotherapy offers relief for sufferers of asthma, smokers cough and bronchitis by opening the airways and expelling the mucous clogging the bronchi. Once the mucous has loosened, it’s easily cleared from the system. The majority of patients treated with salt therapy showed clinical improvements in their symptoms, causing researchers to conclude that salt chamber treatment is proven very effective as a complementary therapy to conventional medication. Additionally, inhalation of salt aerosol is clinically proven to cleanse the respiratory system and speed up elimination of toxins from the body.

An estimated thirty-five million people in the U.S. suffer from seasonal allergies, specifically during spring. Airborne allergensinclude pollen, mulberry, juniper, dust, mould spores, dander and weeds. If allergies are not treated, they can lead to nasal polyps or swollen nasal turbinates. Common symptoms are coughing, wheezing, red and swollen eyes, sore throat, frequent nosebleeds, postnasal drip, mouth ulcers, heartburn, irritability and depression.

Halotherapy (dry sodium chloride air) eliminates airborne pollen particles from your body’s airways. The air composition strengthens immunity, thus decreasing allergic reaction to pollens and other allergens.

A patient suffering with a cold or the flu may display symptoms like a runny nose, sneezing, nasal and sinus blockage, headache and a sore throat. Flu infects the airway tract in the nose and throat, sometimes spreading down into the lungs. People with the flu virus experience symptoms like body aches, high fever, dry cough, red eyes, weakness, flushed skin and dry cough.

If you’re suffering from a cold or the flu, salt therapy will bring you relief! It opens the nasal airways, killing bacteria and facilitating the drainage of your sinuses. It also accelerates mucous clearance from your lungs, relieving chest congestion so you can breathe easier.

Salt therapy is known to be helpful with skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis. Eczema (or dermatitis) is a dry skin condition which comes in many different forms. In mild cases of eczema, the skin is dry, scaly, red and itchy. In more severe cases, there may be weeping, crusting and bleeding of the skin. Studies indicate that nutrients found in salt are essential to the skin, immune system, circulation and body to replenish moisture and offset the harmful toxins we naturally ingest.

Salt therapy reduces stress by creating an environment of relaxation for your body. Sitting in an allergen-free, negative ion charged salt room with soft lighting increases relaxing effects, greatly helping those suffering from chronic depression, fatigue or a stressful daily life.

Salt therapy sessions help reduce the negative effects of first or second-hand smoking. Inhalation of salt aerosol is clinically proven to cleanse the respiratory system and speed up the elimination of toxins from the body.

Why Salt Therapy (Halotherapy)?

“Since the days of Egypt’s Queen Cleopatra, salt therapies have been known to have therapeutic benefits. Whether dipping themselves in the Dead Sea or taking treks into Eastern European salt caves, sufferers of many different respiratory and skin ailments have benefited from the restorative powers of salts.

In 1843, a Polish physician Felix Boczkowski first wrote about the benefit of salt mines. He noted that salt miners had much lower rates of lung disease compared to the rest of the population. He attributed the cause of the salt miners’ good health to the salt cave air that was saturated with saline dust.

Soon, halotherapy (‘halos’ means salt in Greek) became a common drug-free treatment for many chronic lung and skin conditions.”
